Flower Delivery in Çanakkale, Türkiye — Gallipoli to Bozcaada

Two continents, one province

Çanakkale is split by the Dardanelles. The city and most of the province sit on the Asian shore, while Gelibolu (Gallipoli) and Eceabat lie on the European peninsula. The centre is a university town: Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University gives it a large student population, so alongside hospital, new-baby and birthday flowers, a good share of orders go to students living far from their families — exam season, graduation in early summer, or simply a parent who misses them. Biga, the busiest town outside the centre, mixes industry and farmland; Çan is known for ceramics, Lapseki for cherries and Ezine for its white cheese. Bayramiç and Yenice reach into the wooded foothills of Kaz Dağı (Mount Ida), and Ayvacık takes in the Aegean villages of Assos (Behramkale) and Küçükkuyu, with stone guesthouses and summer homes.

Crossing the strait, reaching the islands

Getting a bouquet across water is part of daily life here. Car ferries cross the strait between the city and Eceabat or Kilitbahir, and the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge links Lapseki with Gelibolu. Bozcaada is reached by ferry from Geyikli in Ezine, and Gökçeada, Türkiye's largest island, by ferry from Kabatepe on the peninsula. Island timetables change with the season and crossings can be cancelled in rough weather, so island and remote village orders may go out on the next delivery day. Same-day delivery is standard in Türkiye's metropolitan provinces; Çanakkale is not one of them, so for a fixed date — a birthday, a graduation ceremony — ordering a day ahead is the safe choice. Hotels, guesthouses and student halls

Many visitors stay in small hotels in Assos and on Bozcaada or along the city waterfront. Hotel deliveries go to reception: write the guest's full name, the name the booking is under and the arrival date. If you are travelling for the ANZAC Day dawn service on 25 April and want flowers waiting on the peninsula or in the city, follow the same rule and order early, as the whole area is busy that week. Student halls have a front desk or security; add the student's phone number so they can come down and collect the flowers in person. In the mountain villages of Bayramiç and Yenice, a note on where the mosque or village coffee house is saves the florist a lot of searching.
