Where in Istanbul flowers from abroad usually go

Istanbul is really several cities stitched together by bridges and ferries, and orders from abroad follow the people who live in them. On the European side, central districts such as Beşiktaş and Şişli receive birthday and anniversary bouquets for flats and for offices in Levent and Maslak, while newer apartment towns to the west, such as Başakşehir, Esenyurt and Beylikdüzü, are home to many young families. On the Asian side, Kadıköy and Üsküdar are long-established neighbourhoods full of parents and grandparents, and Ataşehir and Ümraniye combine office towers with large residential complexes. Choosing the right neighbourhood at checkout matters as much as the district: Istanbul districts are the size of whole towns.

The Bosphorus is not the problem — traffic is

Because your bouquet is arranged by a local florist close to the recipient, it never has to cross the Bosphorus in a van. A bouquet for Kadıköy is made on the Asian side; one for Sarıyer is made on the European side. What does shape the day is Istanbul traffic. Deliveries are spread across the day rather than promised to the minute, so if the moment matters — a surprise before dinner, flowers before someone leaves for the airport — order early and say so in the delivery note.

The Princes' Islands (Adalar) are a special case: there is no private car traffic on Büyükada or Heybeliada, and access depends on the ferries. Give a precise address and a reachable phone number, and allow a little more time. Rural edges of the province, such as the villages of Şile and Çatalca, can fall to the next delivery day.

Residences, hospitals and office towers

A large part of Istanbul lives in gated “site” complexes and high-rise residences with a security desk. Write the block name, flat number and the recipient's mobile number. If security will not let the courier upstairs, the flowers are handed to the recipient at the entrance; if the concierge may accept them, say so in the note. In hospitals, flowers are usually received at the information desk rather than on the ward, and intensive care units generally do not accept them, so a get-well bouquet is best sent once the patient is in a regular room. Include the patient's full name and, if you know it, the ward. For office towers, add the company name and the floor.

What Istanbul celebrates with flowers

Besides birthdays and Mother's Day — the second Sunday of May in Türkiye, so plan for the Saturday, as there are no Sunday deliveries — Istanbul marks engagements, new homes and new babies with flowers. Nobody visits a new mother empty-handed here, and if you cannot be there in person, a bouquet goes in your place. June graduation ceremonies keep the university districts busy too. Questions, answered

All delivery areas

Can you deliver to both the European and the Asian side of Istanbul?

Yes. Orders placed before 14:00 Türkiye time are delivered the same day on both sides. The bouquet is prepared by a local florist on the recipient's side of the city, so it does not have to cross the Bosphorus.

Can I send flowers to someone on the Princes' Islands?

Yes. Büyükada, Heybeliada and the other islands belong to the Adalar district. There is no private car traffic and access is by ferry, so please give an exact address and a phone number, and allow some extra time.

The recipient lives in a residence with security. Will the flowers reach them?

Write the block, flat number and the recipient's mobile number. If security does not let the courier inside, the flowers are handed over personally at the entrance. You receive a photo of the delivery by email or WhatsApp.

Can I order flowers in Istanbul for a Sunday?

No, there are no Sunday deliveries anywhere in Türkiye. Order by 14:00 Türkiye time on Saturday for delivery that day, or choose Monday.

Can I send same-day flowers to Istanbul?

Yes. Orders placed before 2 pm Türkiye time (UTC+3) are delivered in Istanbul the same day; later orders go out the next day.

Which addresses in Istanbul do you deliver to?

All 39 districts of Istanbul, covering 963 neighbourhoods and villages — homes, offices, hospitals and hotels.

How will I know it was delivered?

A photo taken at the door is sent to you by email and WhatsApp.
