Send Flowers to Turkey from Austria: Times, Cards, Dates
From Vienna to Vorarlberg, from Linz to Salzburg and Innsbruck, many families in Austria have parents, grandparents or siblings in Türkiye. Many Austrians also know the Turkish Riviera well from their holidays, and some have friends or a partner there. Whether the bouquet is going to a village in Central Anatolia or a hotel near Antalya, this guide covers what is specific to sending flowers to Turkey from Austria: the cut-off in Austrian time, paying with an Austrian card, a Father's Day that falls on a different Sunday, and how to write a Turkish address and card. For the general process, see how to send flowers to Turkey from abroad; if you also have family in Germany, our guide for sending flowers from Germany is worth a look.
How it works
Nothing leaves Austria. You order online, a local florist near your recipient arranges the bouquet by hand and delivers it in person, and you get a delivery photo by email or WhatsApp. No customs, no parcel, no days on the road. We deliver to all 81 provinces of Türkiye, down to neighbourhood (mahalle) and village (köy) level.
The cut-off in Austrian time: 12:00 or 13:00
Orders placed before 14:00 Türkiye time are delivered the same day in the larger cities; remote villages may receive the bouquet the next day. Türkiye stays on UTC+3 all year and never changes its clocks. Austria moves its clocks on the last Sunday of March and of October:
- Winter time (CET): Türkiye is 2 hours ahead, so order before 12:00 Austrian time.
- Summer time (CEST): Türkiye is 1 hour ahead, so order before 13:00 Austrian time.
If you order in the evening after work, it is already late evening in Türkiye and the flowers go out on the next delivery day. The week the clocks change is when people most easily get caught out, so double-check the gap then.
There are no deliveries on Sundays or on Turkish public holidays: 1 January, 23 April, 1 May, 19 May, 15 July, 30 August, 29 October and the days of Ramazan Bayramı and Kurban Bayramı. Austrian holidays do not apply in Türkiye: Austria's National Day on 26 October, Corpus Christi or 8 December are normally ordinary delivery days there. Three days after the Austrian National Day, on 29 October, Türkiye celebrates Republic Day, and that day there is no delivery.
Paying with an Austrian card
We accept Visa and Mastercard. Many Austrian banks have been issuing their debit card (the Bankomatkarte) as a Debit Mastercard or Visa Debit in recent years, and these generally work for online payments abroad. An older Bankomatkarte without that function may not work online; a credit card is then the safer option. Things to know:
- The charge is in Turkish lira (TRY). Prices can be shown in euros as an approximate guide, but your bank converts the lira amount at its own rate, so the figure on your statement may differ slightly.
- Currency fees. Many Austrian banks charge a fee on card payments outside the euro. Check your bank's price list.
- 3-D Secure. You confirm the payment in your banking app or with a code, as with other online purchases.
The delivery fee depends on the district and is shown in the cart before you pay. For every cost element, see how much it costs to send flowers to Turkey.
Muttertag lines up, Vatertag doesn't
Mother's Day falls on the same day in Austria and Türkiye: the second Sunday of May (9 May in 2027). As we don't deliver on Sundays, Anneler Günü flowers arrive on Saturday 8 May 2027. Florists are at their busiest that week, so order a few days ahead.
Father's Day is different. Austria celebrates Vatertag on the second Sunday of June, Türkiye celebrates Babalar Günü on the third Sunday of June. In 2027 that is 13 June in Austria and 20 June in Türkiye. If your father lives in Türkiye, choose Saturday 19 June 2027 for delivery.
Valentine's Day 2027 also falls on a Sunday: pick Saturday 13 or Monday 15 February. Ramazan Bayramı and Kurban Bayramı are public holidays, so Bayram greetings are delivered on the days before; the dates move about eleven days earlier each year.
Other occasions
- Birthdays: see our birthday flowers.
- Get well: a “geçmiş olsun” bouquet to hospital, with ward and room number; see get-well flowers.
- Condolences: Turkish funerals usually take place very quickly. Read condolence flowers in Turkey before ordering.
- Engagements, weddings and new babies: always a reason for a bouquet in Turkish families.
The meaning of colours and numbers is explained in our guide to Turkish flower etiquette.
Where Austrian orders go
Many Turkish families in Austria have roots in Central Anatolia and on the Black Sea coast, while other relatives live in Istanbul, Ankara or Izmir. We deliver to cities such as Konya and Kayseri and to the villages around them as reliably as to Istanbul. Austrian friends and partners often send to the Antalya coast: Kemer, Belek in Serik, Side in Manavgat and Alanya. When you search, you can type names without Turkish characters.
Hotels, villages and apartments
A Turkish address runs from large to small:
- İl (province), e.g. Antalya
- İlçe (district), e.g. Kemer; the delivery fee depends on it
- Mahalle (neighbourhood) or köy (village)
- Cadde or sokak (street), building number, kat (floor), daire (flat) and, in gated complexes, the site name and blok
In hotels, the flowers are handed over at reception: give the hotel name, the guest's full name and the room number. In villages without house numbers, the recipient's phone number and a landmark such as “next to the mosque” make the difference. If a remote address can't be reached, we contact you.
A few lines in Turkish for the card
- “Anneciğim, Anneler Günün kutlu olsun.” – Happy Mother's Day, dear mum.
- “Babacığım, Babalar Günün kutlu olsun.” – Happy Father's Day, dear dad.
- “İyi ki doğdun, nice yaşlara!” – Happy birthday, and many more!
- “Geçmiş olsun, çabuk iyileş.” – Get well soon.
- “Bayramınız mübarek olsun.” – Blessed Bayram.
Sign with “Avusturya'dan sevgilerle” (with love from Austria) or with the name the family uses for you, for example “Kızın Zeynep, Wien” (your daughter Zeynep, Vienna).

Frequently asked questions
What time do I need to order from Austria for same-day delivery in Türkiye?
Before 14:00 Türkiye time: 12:00 Austrian time in winter (CET) and 13:00 in summer (CEST). Later orders go out on the next delivery day.
Is Father's Day in Türkiye the same as Vatertag in Austria?
No. Austria celebrates on the second Sunday of June, Türkiye on the third Sunday of June. In 2027 that is 13 June and 20 June. Mother's Day, on the other hand, is the second Sunday of May in both countries.

Yes. Hotel deliveries go to reception; give the hotel name, the guest's full name and the room number.
Do you deliver on Austrian public holidays?
Austrian holidays such as 26 October or 8 December are normally ordinary delivery days in Türkiye. We don't deliver on Sundays or on Turkish public holidays such as 29 October.
