Same-Day Flower Delivery in Istanbul: Cut-offs & Tips

Same-Day Flower Delivery in Istanbul: Cut-offs & Tips

Istanbul is a city of more than fifteen million people spread across two continents, 39 districts and a lot of traffic. Same-day flower delivery is absolutely possible here, but knowing how the cut-off, the two sides of the Bosphorus and the city's rhythm work will help your bouquet arrive when you hope it will. Here is what to know before you order.

The same-day cut-off: 14:00 Türkiye time

Order before 14:00 Türkiye time and the flowers are delivered the same day. Orders after 14:00 are delivered the next day.

Istanbul runs on UTC+3 all year, with no daylight saving. So 14:00 in Istanbul is:

  • London: 11:00 in winter, 12:00 in summer
  • Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam: 12:00 in winter, 13:00 in summer
  • New York: 06:00 in winter, 07:00 in summer
  • Moscow: 14:00 all year
  • Dubai: 15:00 all year

If you are in the US or Canada, the cut-off falls very early in your morning, so the easiest route to same-day delivery is to order the evening before for the next Istanbul date.

Same-day means during that day, not at a specific hour. If the timing really matters, for a birthday breakfast or before a dinner reservation, pick a delivery time slot where available (some slots carry a small surcharge, shown before payment), or order the day before.

European side and Asian side

The Bosphorus divides Istanbul into the European side (Avrupa Yakası) and the Asian side (Anadolu Yakası). We work with local florists close to the recipient, so the bouquet is generally prepared on the same side of the water where it is delivered. That avoids depending on a bridge crossing for every order.

Popular districts on the European side:

  • Beşiktaş: Ortaköy, Bebek, Etiler, Levent
  • Şişli: Nişantaşı, Mecidiyeköy and many offices
  • Beyoğlu: Taksim, Cihangir, Galata and lots of hotels
  • Fatih: the historic peninsula, Sultanahmet, Eminönü
  • Sarıyer: the upper Bosphorus villages, Tarabya, Yeniköy
  • Bakırköy: Yeşilköy, Ataköy and the coastal west

Popular districts on the Asian side:

  • Kadıköy: Moda, Fenerbahçe, Bağdat Avenue area
  • Üsküdar: Kuzguncuk, Çengelköy, Beylerbeyi
  • Ataşehir: residential towers and the business district

We deliver to all 39 districts of Istanbul, including the large outer districts, down to the neighbourhood (mahalle). See the full list on our Istanbul delivery page.

Traffic: a realistic view

Istanbul traffic is famous for a reason. Morning and evening rush hours, Bosphorus bridge approaches, rain and big events can all slow things down. Some practical consequences:

  • Same-day orders placed close to the cut-off are delivered later in the day.
  • Districts far from the centre, and the car-free Princes' Islands (Adalar), which are reached by ferry, can take longer. For the islands, ordering a day ahead is the safer choice.
  • Busy dates such as Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and Teachers' Day put the whole city's florists under pressure, so order early.

We would rather tell you this honestly than promise an exact hour we can't guarantee in a city of this size.

Sending flowers to a hospital in Istanbul

Istanbul has many large state and private hospitals, and flowers for a patient are a common same-day order. For a smooth delivery:

  • give the hospital's full name and district, as several hospitals have similar names
  • add the patient's full name, plus ward and room number if you know them
  • include a phone number for the patient or a relative
  • remember that intensive-care units usually don't accept flowers, and that visiting hours can affect when the bouquet reaches the room

A bright bouquet with "Geçmiş olsun" (get well soon) on the card is always welcome. We can add a Turkish translation of your message free of charge and hand-write it.

Sending flowers to a hotel in Istanbul

From Sultanahmet's boutique hotels to the towers around Taksim, Şişli and the Bosphorus shore, hotel deliveries are a big part of Istanbul orders, for honeymoons, birthdays on holiday or a welcome for a business trip. Add the hotel name, the room number and the guest's full name exactly as on the booking. Reception can then match the delivery quickly, even if the guest is out sightseeing.

Card, payment and proof

  • Card message: up to 300 characters in English, Turkish, German or Russian, with a free hand-written Turkish translation on request.
  • Payment: prices are displayed in your currency, but your card is charged in Turkish lira (TRY). The delivery fee for the district is shown in the cart before payment.
  • Proof: we send a photo of the delivery by email and WhatsApp.
  • If something's wrong: report damaged or wilted flowers with a photo within 24 hours and we will resend or refund.
