How to Send Flowers to Turkey from Abroad: 2026 Guide

How to Send Flowers to Turkey from Abroad: 2026 Guide

Sending flowers to someone in Türkiye when you live in London, Berlin, New York or Moscow sounds simple until you start. Which town page do you need? What does "same day" mean in your time zone? Will grandma be able to read the card? And what will your bank actually charge? This guide walks through every step, from choosing the exact neighbourhood to receiving a photo of the delivery, so your bouquet arrives on the right day at the right door.

A quick note on names: the country's official name is Türkiye, while most people still search for "Turkey" in English. We use both here, and they mean the same place.

How flower delivery to Turkey actually works

Nothing is shipped from abroad. You order online, and a local florist near your recipient hand-ties the arrangement and delivers it in person. That has three practical consequences:

  • Freshness: the flowers travel minutes, not days, so they arrive at their best.
  • No customs or post: nothing crosses a border, so there are no duties, parcels or postal delays.
  • Real coverage: delivery is not limited to Istanbul and the big cities. We cover all 81 provinces and their 973 districts, down to neighbourhood (mahalle) and village (köy) level.

That last point matters to families abroad whose relatives live in a small Central Anatolian town, a Black Sea village or a quiet corner of the Aegean coast, places that "send flowers worldwide" services often can't reach.

Step 1: Choose the delivery area, down to the neighbourhood

Start with where the flowers are going, not with the bouquet. On our delivery areas page you can search by province, district or neighbourhood. Turkish addresses follow a clear hierarchy:

  • Province (il): for example Istanbul, Antalya or Izmir
  • District (ilçe): for example Kadıköy in Istanbul or Alanya in Antalya
  • Neighbourhood (mahalle) or village (köy): the smallest unit, and the one couriers navigate by

The district is the important level: the delivery fee depends on it, and so can the range of bouquets available. Popular destinations have their own pages, such as flower delivery in Istanbul, Kadıköy, Antalya and Bodrum.

Tip: you can type names without Turkish characters. "Uskudar" finds Üsküdar and "Besiktas" finds Beşiktaş.

Step 2: Pick the bouquet

With the area set, browse our flowers and gifts. Because each arrangement is made by hand by a local florist, individual stems can vary a little with the season, while the style, colours and size follow the design you chose.

Think briefly about the occasion in Turkish terms. Red roses read as romantic everywhere; for a funeral, white flowers and wreaths are customary; and a few colours carry meanings that differ from what you may know at home. Our guide to Turkish flower etiquette covers colours and numbers, and condolence flowers in Turkey explains what to send after a loss.

Step 3: Set the date and beat the cut-off

Orders placed before 14:00 Türkiye time are delivered the same day. Orders placed after 14:00 are delivered the next day.

Türkiye stays on UTC+3 all year and does not change its clocks. So the gap to your own time changes when your country switches between summer and winter time. Here is what 14:00 in Türkiye means for you:

  • London: 11:00 in winter (GMT), 12:00 in summer (BST)
  • Berlin, Amsterdam, Vienna, Zurich: 12:00 in winter (CET), 13:00 in summer (CEST)
  • New York: 06:00 in winter (EST), 07:00 in summer (EDT)
  • Moscow: 14:00 all year, because Moscow and Türkiye share the same time

In practice, a sender in New York who wants same-day delivery has to order before breakfast, or simply the evening before. If you're ordering late in your own day, assume the flowers go out on the next Türkiye calendar day and choose the date with that in mind.

Need a particular part of the day, for example a morning delivery before someone leaves for work? Choose a delivery time slot where one is offered. Some slots carry a small surcharge, which you see before you pay.

For the busiest days, such as Valentine's Day, Mother's Day (the second Sunday of May in Türkiye, not March as in the UK) or Teachers' Day on 24 November, order a few days ahead so the florist can plan stock.

Step 4: Write the card message, and let us translate it

Every order includes a card message of up to 300 characters, written in English, Turkish, German or Russian.

If your recipient doesn't read the language you write in, for example a grandmother in a village receiving a note from a grandchild in Manchester, we can add a Turkish translation free of charge and hand-write it on the card. Just ask at checkout.

A few tips for a message that lands well:

  • 300 characters is about three or four short sentences. Plain sentences translate better than idioms or wordplay.
  • Sign with the name your recipient knows you by, for example "Emma, Tom and the kids, Leeds".
  • Some Turkish phrases are always welcome: "İyi ki doğdun" (happy birthday), "Geçmiş olsun" (get well soon) and "Başınız sağ olsun" (the standard words of condolence).

Step 5: Give an address the courier can find

A complete address saves time on the day. Include:

  • the recipient's full name and a phone number they will answer
  • neighbourhood (mahalle), street (cadde or sokak), building number and flat number (daire)
  • the complex name if it's a gated estate (site), which is common in Turkish cities
  • a landmark if it helps, such as "opposite the mosque" or "above the pharmacy"

Hospitals

We deliver to hospitals. Give the hospital name and district, the patient's full name, and the ward and room number if you know them. Hospital rules vary: intensive-care units often don't accept flowers, and visiting hours can affect when the bouquet reaches the room. A phone number for the patient or a relative makes the hand-over much easier.

Hotels

Hotel deliveries are common in Istanbul and in resort towns such as Alanya, Fethiye and Bodrum. Add the hotel name, the room number and the guest's full name as it appears on the booking, so reception can match the delivery quickly.

Offices

For a workplace, give the company name, floor and department along with the recipient's name, and pick a working day.

Rural villages

Village addresses are often informal: no street numbers, and houses known by the family's name. Give the village and the district it belongs to, the recipient's phone number and a short description, for example "the house next to the village mosque" or "ask for the Yılmaz family". For remote villages, ordering a day early gives the florist comfortable time for the drive.

Step 6: Pay, and know what your bank will show

Prices are displayed in your own currency so you can browse comfortably, but the card is charged in Turkish lira (TRY). That means:

  • your bank statement shows an amount in TRY
  • your bank converts it into your currency at its own exchange rate
  • some cards add a foreign-transaction fee for payments in a foreign currency

If you send flowers to Türkiye regularly, a card without foreign-transaction fees is worth having. The delivery fee for your chosen district appears in the cart before payment, so you see the full order total up front. For a full breakdown, read how much it costs to send flowers to Turkey.

Step 7: Get photo proof of delivery

Once the flowers are handed over, we send you a photo of the delivery by email and on WhatsApp. When you live a few thousand kilometres away, that picture is often the best part: you see that the bouquet arrived and how it looked.

If something goes wrong and the flowers arrive damaged or wilted, report it with a photo within 24 hours and we will resend the order or refund you. As flowers are perishable, they can't be returned.

Turkish flower etiquette in brief

  • Birthdays and anniversaries: colourful mixed bouquets and roses are always safe.
  • Romance: red roses say it clearly; for a new relationship, softer colours are more discreet.
  • Get well: bright, cheerful flowers, and check the hospital's rules.
  • Condolences: white flowers and funeral wreaths (çelenk) are traditional. Funerals in Türkiye usually take place very quickly, often the day after a death, so same-day ordering matters.
  • Business openings: tall flower stands (ferforje) at the entrance of a new shop or office are a Turkish tradition.
  • Teachers' Day: a modest bouquet for a teacher on 24 November is a much-loved custom.

More detail is in our Turkish flower etiquette guide.
